 Excellent vacuum for everyday touch-ups December 20, 2008
Truthfully, I never thought that I would be writing a review for a vacuum, but this one is worth the time, as it has saved me plenty. I have two cats, one who sheds the equivalent of five. Aside from the excessive hair, small bits of litter gets distributed over the hardwood floors and area rugs over the course of the day. I also have a runner carpet on the stairs to the second floor, which acquires a lovely cat hair coating. I hate vacuuming, and although my regular vac is a Miele, and very good, it's not something that I want to drag out on a daily basis. This Dirt Devil Accucharge is perfect for every day, quick touch-ups between regular vacuuming sessions. It is surprisingly effective on fine cat hair, small bits of 'whatever': lint, dust, litter scattered on the rugs, and it picks up just about everything off of the hardwood. I gave it four stars instead of five because the charge only lasts at full force for about 15 minutes. Nonetheless, if you are looking for an energy efficient, yet powerful, cordless stick vac for quick, light touch-ups, this one is fantastic!

Have only had this a few days, so we'll see how the battery does, but...this is a great vacuum for what we use it for. We use it on hardwood, floor rugs, and some on short pile carpet, mostly to pick up crumbs and pine needles. It does a fine job with all that. It bends very low to get under tables, etc., and is just so handy. Might be the handiest thing I have ever owned. The only thing that could be easier is emptying the canister. It's not that it's hard, just a little awkward. Overall: love it!

This machine is not a substitute for a vacuum. It has neither the power nor the capacity to thoroughly clean a home. It is wonderful and convenient for touchups -- those unexplained crumbs and other bits of dirt that seem to appear all the time. It does a good job on pet hair on bare floors and a reasonable job on hair on rugs. It does not work well on leaves. You'd have to pick them up by hand. It should be kept handy for touch-ups and light cleaning. This is not the machine for embedded dirt, but it is fine for surface cleaning. If you buy it for the right jobs, and don't expect too much, it can be extremely useful.

I bought this because I have 2 cats, 1 dog and 3 children that track in dirt constantly. We don't wear shoes in our home (Asian household)and I am very sensitive to things that touch the bottom of my feet. I got tired of taking out my broom and sweeping it up and then having to clean up that last strip of dirt that couldn't get into the dustpan. I looked at the Dirt Devil Broom and found many of the negative reviews helpful in making my choice in purchasing this. It does what it says. It picks up dirt. Little messes-okay! Not a whole box of cereal. And if you are using this to vacuum for more than 20 minutes you might as well get out your regular vacuum. Nice product. Nice looking and worth the price. It also comes with a nice 2-year warranty. You won't be disappointed if you plan on using this for light clean up.

This is a pretty good little cordless vacuum, albeit somewhat loud.
I like the fact that it doesn't tip over when you stand it up. And the energy star feature is a plus.Easy to clean & maneuvers well. So much better than my last cordless.
