Product Description While many smokers have just enough power to dry jerky, the Smoke Vault 24 creates a wide range of usable heat that can be used for smoking ribs, fish and turkeys as well as baking pies and breads. It is roomy enough for Dutch ovens or your favorite cookware. The convenient "snap ignition" is coupled with a finesse style propane gas valve that translates into 20,000 maximum BTU's of usable heat. The overlapping door keeps more smoke and heat inside the unit allowing you to use your vents more efficiently during the cooking or smoking process. A removable stainless steel water pan will help keep the moisture in the meat while you cook. The long-life cast iron chip tray holds the wood chips and also diverts the heat into the circulation pattern necessary for successful smoking or cooking: Includes: 4 cooking grids. 1 Stainless steel water tray. 1 Cast iron chip tray. Dimensions: Assembled box 24" X 15.6". 29.5" from top to bottom of the cook box. 44" from top of box to the bottom legs. The foot print of the legs is 30" x 21".

Camp Chef SMV24 Smoke Vault 24 Inch November 23, 2008 I can't say enough about this product or the Camp Chef company! I've use this smoker for two years now for all kinds of things from making BBQ to baking pies. I does a wonderful job on anything you might want to cook, bake or smoke at low or high temperatures. The temperature range and control are excellent so this is a very versatile portable smoker-baker-oven.
It's large enough to lay a full brisket or rack of ribs down without trimming or curling yet, it's small enough and light enough to load on the truck and take camping or to do on- site catering for small parties. It can easily accommodate 5 large aluminum trays for warming or cooking lasagna, stuffed shells or baked ziti! I love it! [...]

Great smoker for the first timer... June 12, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The box is very heavy, like many other reviewers i think that they need to make the packaging more sturdy to prevent damage... i had a small dent lucky that the ups man was cautious... very easy to put together this is a one person job. curing the box was easy... i smoked couple of meats not bad but i need to learn the amount of smoking for meats, first batch was too smoky. Like all things you need to try it and learn from the mistakes, this is a little gem at the right price... great starter smoker for first time fan.
Excellent smoker May 21, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a very well-built smoker. I have tried the cheaper ones but as the saying goes you get what you pay for. It was easy to assemble, no missing parts, always a major complaint of mine. If you are a 2 or 3 times a year smoker, this is problably a little pricey and you would be better off with a kettle type smoker. But If you are a serious outdoor griller or smoker I would highly recommend this one. Temp is easy to control and very well built. Only thing I would reccomend is to put wheel casters on so it can be moved easily, but this is minor, I can pick the unit up by myself with no problem... and maybe a little longer propane hose. These are very minor tho overall, 5 snaps up.
