Amazon.com Product Description This solitaire style setting makes an elegant choice for your center diamond, with a unique concave shape to the top of the band. The highly polished metal reflects beautifully on this curved design. The edges of the band are flat and squared off, with the inside of the band rounded for a soft, comfortable feel on the finger. The band is the same width all the way around the finger. This design is a subtle variation of a classic solitaire and will complement the center diamond. This setting is made of 18 karat white gold, which is a beautiful and flattering precious metal for diamond jewelry. This luxurious metal has a wonderful white color and luster that complements the clear brilliance of diamonds. 18k gold is 75% pure 24 karat gold, with the remaining percentage usually being alloy metals of silver, copper, nickel and palladium. The alloys add strength to the pure gold, which would be too soft for everyday wear on its own. 18k white gold is not as white as platinum, as it is yellow gold turned white mostly through nickel or palladium alloys. Some people prefer this warmer white over platinum's grayer white. White gold is often plated with rhodium, a metal in the platinum group, to enhance its white color. 18k has a lustrous white color, and a slightly heavier weight than 14k. It can be a little more expensive than 14k, due to the higher percentage of pure gold, but will cost less than a similar setting in platinum. Its durability makes it well-suited for a diamond ring that will be worn everyday. As a precious metal, 18k will naturally patina, or scratch lightly on the surface, but the original bright polished luster can be maintained through an occasional cleaning and polishing.

| Customer Reviews:
It's not white !!! September 21, 2005 I do expect actual digital pictures of the ring in very high resolution.
The bad and very bad: 1. The proportions of the diamond to ring are not even close to the diagram. 2. 18K white gold is not even close to white, and you better have it in bold! Usually, rings like this are covered with Palladium, but not here. 3. Packaging is rather cheap. Would be OK for a $300 ring, but not for $6K 4. It was 2 days late. Once again, it would be OK with a DVD... 5. Engraving on the ring says "Amazon" in bold. It's not what I expected. So, have it in bold as well! 6. I do expect, at least, direct e-mail/chat support before and after the large purchase like this.
